Port Waratah Coal Services Limited (‘PWCS’) is subject to the National Privacy Principles (‘NPP’) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
This Privacy Statement explains in general terms how PWCS protects the privacy of your personal information under the NPP. It also sets out the matters which we are required to disclose to individuals under NPP 1.3 and 1.5. The principles set out in this Privacy Statement will apply to any personal information you provide to PWCS via our web site or under any agreement or arrangement and to information we collect about you from other sources.
This Privacy Statement does not apply to acts and practices of PWCS that relates directly to either current or former employee records.
How we collect your personal information

For example, we may collect personal information about you when you deal with us over the telephone, send us correspondence (whether by letter, fax or email), subscribe electronically to our publications or when you have contact with us in person.

Your use of the facilities and services available through this website will determine the amount and type of information that we collect about you. For example, we may collect personal information from a company for whom you work such as your name and contact details, other organisations with whom you have any dealings, an information service provider or from a publicly maintained record.

How we collect personal information from you
If you provide us or
have provided us with your email address, we may send emails to you containing
PWCS publications, such as reports or meeting invitations. For the Customer
Interface website you will receive emails for those publications that you
personally subscribe to via the website menu item called My Profile.
We may use an "email management system" to automate the management and dispatch of these emails. The system operates by inserting tracking codes in the emails that we send to you.
The kind of personal information we collect about you
The tracking
code allows us to collect personal information about you, such as whether you
received and opened an email, and whether you clicked through to any links to
our website. This information that we collect about you will be stored by our
email management system.

personal information that the email management system collects about you is used

For authorised users of the Customer Interface website you can gain access to the personal information that we hold about you by viewing your details on the Customer Interface website under the My Profile menu option.
All other requests for access to the information we hold about you will be provided upon request, unless there is an exemption which applies under the NPP.
